For those who want to see the beautiful sights that Idaho has to offer, this list of the top 10 prettiest summer drives in Idaho is for you! Keep reading to find out where to go if you want to see some of the natural beauty Idaho offers.




Hells Canyon Scenic Byway offers impressive views of the canyon as it winds along the eastern side of the Snake River dividing Idaho from Oregon. As you drive along this byway, you'll see a breathtaking view of the canyon, with towering cliffs of black and green basalt high above the Snake River'sRiver's sandy beaches. 




Flowing through the Targhee National Forest, the Mesa Falls Scenic Byway loops roughly 30 miles to the Island Park area. As you drive through it, you'll pass the Warm River campground, and two of the most beautiful waterfalls the West Coast has to offer, lower and upper Mesa Falls. 




Take the Owyhee Uplands Backcountry Byway, and you'll enjoy the lovely hay meadows, rolling hills, majestic mountains, and juniper woodlands along the way. As you drive, you'll see what the West looked like before it was settled, with winding rivers and mountains framing wildflowers and sagebrush. 




For those who want to see more of the Snake River, Thousand Springs Scenic Byway is for you! It provides a glimpse into the unique geology and history of the Snake River Canyon as it follows US 30 southeast through Twin Falls, Idaho.




Lake Coeur d'Alened'Alene Scenic Byway passes by lakes, mountains, and gorgeous summer sights. This is why it's become one of the most sought-after destinations in all of Idaho. See nature in all her glory, along with some of the local wildlife.




The 100th National Forest Scenic Byway created, Sawtooth Scenic Byway passes north through fertile agricultural land along with the resort towns of Hailey, Ketchum, and Sun Valley.




This scenic byway winds along vineyards, wineries, and along the beautiful Snake River. Learn more about Idaho'sIdaho's rich culture, history, and traditions on this picturesque byway.




Named for the Teton Range slopes it runs along, the Teton Scenic Byway is a 70-mile trip across breathtaking vistas, rivers, and historical sites. This byway eventually gives way to the Grand Targhee Resort. Come ride a bike trail and see the Upper Snake River Valley's fields of crops. 




The Payette River Scenic Byway starts West of Boise and heads north along Idaho 55 to pass the Payette River and the Boise and Payette National Forests. On this byway, you'll cross paths with the Cascade Reservoir, Smiths Ferry, and Ponderosa State Park.




For those interested in indigenous culture, Sacajawea Historic Byway offers engaging Native American history and riveting views. Discover the story of Sacajawea and the Lewis and Clarke expedition and visit Gilmore's old mining town.
